Description of the Blue Tier Giant Walk
The track is a 2.3 kilometre walk that travels through mixed species native forest with rainforest understory in the Groom River Valley and includes the Blue Tier Giant, a Eucalyptus Regnans with a massive girth and height of over 70m. The forests are breathtaking with glades of sassafras, myrtles and tree ferns as well as giant Eucalyptus regnans trees, including the Cradle Tree, the Blue Tier Giant, and other stunning examples of Eucalyptus regnans.
How to get there:
The track is in Blue Tier, between Weldborough and Pyengana, on the north side of the Tasman Hwy.
Set your trip meter to 000 at the Weldborough Hotel and drive along the A3 towards Pyengana for 6.7 kilometres and turn left onto Lottah Road. Follow Lottah Road for 1.3 kilometres and turn right near the quarry. Follow this dirt road for 1.7 kilometres to the start of the Big Tree Walk.
